Gentleman of Intriguing Appearance: Sasha Roiz
This is going to be a short post – mostly because I’ve just not seen enough of this week’s Gentleman’s work to ramble at length. But there is a whole lot of Mr Roiz to enjoy here today, so I’m going to keep the text above (most) of the pictures so you can just enjoy the visuals once you’re done here.
Like many, the first thing I noticed Sasha in was Grimm. Like many, it didn’t take long for me to pay attention. True to form, it took a few episodes – I suspect the Gentlemen don’t count as intriguing if it hits me like a train (Ralph Fiennes is a major exception) – and how could it not? Dark handsome looks, the profile (always the profile – makes men’s faces so interesting) and, rare as this is, that stature. Clearing six-foot, his Captain Renard towers over most of his co-stars so you just can’t drag your eyes off him.
And he looks damn fine with tattoos (scroll down, you’ll thank me).
I did have a brief look at some of his other work. Unfortunately Caprica just didn’t grab me. I feel it should have, but perhaps it suffered from just not being Battlestar Galactica. I liked what they were doing with Sasha’s character Sam Adama, making his sexuality an accepted part of the world and it being depicted as another facet of his character rather than his whole reason of being, but there was just wasn’t enough of him there to keep me watching (because sometimes I am that shallow, yes I am).
So I’m going to have to be satisfied with his appearances on Grimm for now. Which is going to get tough when we finish season 3 on Netflix…
For more Sasha, really the best thing you can do is follow him on Instagram.
